SETUP SHEETS

8/29/2019

The SETUP SHEET function can be used to write out chassis setting or geometry values directly from MotoSPEC into an Excel spreadsheet.

This eliminates the duplicate entry of values in MotoSPEC and the user's Excel setup sheet, saving time copying these values for record-keeping or when creating build sheets for mechanics.

The cell address for each value is specified once, and then all the desired values can be written out with just a couple of mouse clicks.  The file, column and row specifications are retained after MotoSPEC is closed, so that they are available the next time that the SETUP SHEET is used.

  • Settings will be written out into a single column in an Excel spreadsheet.
  • The spreadsheet cell for each setting requires a COLUMN and ROW to be specified.
    • The COLUMN is specified in the upper part of the SETUP SHEET form.
    • The ROW specifications are grouped in expandable sections as shown below.
      • Each section can be expanded or contracted by clicking on the arrow at the top left of the section header.

  • Excel files of .xls, .xlsx or .xlsm are allowed.
  • A row number is to be specified for each setting or value to be written.
  • Component names, Results and Chassis values can be written out.
    • For example, frame ID, trail, headstock height and front-axle-to-pivot distance.
  • Results and Chassis values can be written out at the current pot readings or at topped out condition.
  • All Setup Sheet settings are retained and restored when MotoSPEC is next started.
Picture
  • The 'Sheet Name' drop-down menu is populated after selecting the file, listing all the sheets that currently exist in when the file is selected.
  • 'Row Offset' can be used to shift the row specifications up or down.
    • For example, FP1 and FP2 may be kept on the same sheet, with FP1 above FP2.
    • The Fork ID row can be specified to be written into row 25 for FP1.
    • If the Fork ID for FP2 is to be written to the same sheet on row 75, the 'Row Offset' should be specified as 50.  This will shift the row specs for all settings down by 50 rows.
    • 'Row Offset' can be specified at 0 if no shift is desired.
  • For settings with left/right or fore/aft values (for example, fork spring rate or pivot adjustments), specifying both with the same row will result in both settings being written into one cell, separated by '/'.
    • This applies to all settings with an asterisk (*).
  • Settings with blank row values will not be written out.
