The 'Import HED file' function will fill the settings in one or all MotoSPEC columns from a 2D HED file.
This reduces the duplication of entering setup information in both 2D and MotoSPEC.
This feature can be found under 'DATA AQ'>'Import HED file'.
The HED file can be imported into a single column, or into all columns.
On clicking on 'Select HED file', a file browser appears.
After selecting the HED file in the browser, MotoSPEC will then read the HED file and apply the settings to the column specified.
It is important to strictly follow the 2D guidelines for the HED file structure and labels. Below is a chart showing the 2D HED names that are mapped to the MotoSPEC settings.
Some labels have alternatives - for example, those allowing different settings in left and right fork legs.
If a MotoSPEC Standard license is being used, the fork and shock specifications from the HED file are imported into all columns, since the fork and shock specifications are shared.
The complete text of the HED file will be written into the chassis notes (CHASSIS>NOTES) in MotoSPEC.
The HED file can be opened in a text editor to see the content of the file directly.
MotoSPEC will attempt to match the HED 'Link', 'FTYRE' and 'RTYRE' names to the names in the LINKAGE and TYRE tables. If a name is not found, an error message will be displayed and MotoSPEC will apply the first selection in the table.
The nominal linkarm length for the link will be applied.
